A warm, structured 15-minute live morning gathering designed to help children begin the day with connection, routine, and community.
Morning Homeroom follows a simple, consistent routine that may include duʿā’, attendance, emotional check-ins, weather, conversation, a short “Fun fact of the day,” and community-building activities.
Children will also keep a simple daily Homeroom journal. Families should have a notebook or journal available, along with a pencil, pen, marker, or other writing utensil their child enjoys using.
A short YouTube Homeroom Success video will be provided for both the Kindergarten and First Grade levels. Families should watch this before beginning so children understand the routine, expectations, materials, and how to participate successfully.
Because Homeroom is designed as a larger-group community experience, children should not expect one-on-one attention during each session. Throughout the week, there will be opportunities for children to be highlighted, invited to share, answer questions, or participate more directly; however, individual spotlight or sharing opportunities cannot be guaranteed for every child during every week or session.
The Morning Homeroom fee is per family, not per child, so multiple children from the same household may participate under one Homeroom enrollment.
Morning Homeroom is separate from our live instructional reading classes. Kindergarten and First Grade Reading Foundations have set enrollment limits because they are interactive online classes designed to allow more direct teacher-student participation and personal interaction.
Enrollment in Morning Homeroom does not enroll, reserve a seat, or include enrollment in either reading class. Kindergarten and First Grade Reading Foundations require separate enrollment and purchase.
Morning Homeroom is intended to be a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. Children are expected to follow class directions and interact respectfully with Ms. Lamia and other students.
Disrespectful, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior will be addressed with clear reminders and warnings. If a child receives more than three behavioral warnings and the behavior continues, Madrasatu AlFaseelah reserves the right to remove the child from Morning Homeroom without a refund.
In cases of serious behavior that warrants immediate removal—such as conduct that significantly disrupts the learning environment, threatens the safety or well-being of others, or is otherwise considered severe—Madrasatu AlFaseelah reserves the right to unenroll the child immediately without first issuing three warnings. The parent or guardian will be informed of the reason for removal, and no refund will be issued.
Parents and guardians are responsible for helping younger children understand and follow these expectations.
