How it works

A Clear, Consistent Weekly Rhythm

Children learn best when instruction is explicit, predictable, and gives them enough time to practice. Our live classes are designed around a steady weekly rhythm that introduces new skills, gives children repeated practice, and then brings everything together through reading and review.

  • Monday
    Introduce and practice the week’s first skill.

    Tuesday
    Continue the skill with guided practice, decoding, and spelling.

    Wednesday
    Begin the next skill with explicit instruction and active participation.

    Thursday
    Strengthen and apply the new skill through additional practice.

    Friday
    Reading, review, application, and spiral practice from the week.

  • This is an interactive live class—not a passive video lesson. Children are encouraged to respond, read aloud, write, participate in group practice, and stay actively engaged throughout the lesson.

  • Our pacing is intentionally designed to give young learners repeated exposure and practice before moving on. The goal is not to rush through skills, but to help children build accurate, confident reading foundations.

  • Friday gives children a chance to use the week’s learning in real reading, review previous skills, and strengthen fluency and confidence.

Morning Homeroom

Start the Day with Connection, Routine & Community

Morning Homeroom is an optional live gathering designed to help children ease into the day, feel connected to their classmates, and begin learning with a calm, consistent routine.

    • Welcome & Attendance — children join, settle in, and get ready together.

    • Duʿā’ — begin the morning with a short shared duʿā’.

    • Emotional Check-In — a simple opportunity for children to share how they are feeling.

    • Weather & Something of the Day — light conversation, observation, or a small daily topic.

    • Community Time — brief connection and conversation before academic instruction begins.

  • For young online learners, connection matters. Homeroom gives children a familiar opening routine and a chance to feel seen, welcomed, and part of a learning community before class begins.

  • Homeroom is optional and separate from the core reading class. Families may enroll in the reading class without adding Homeroom.

  • 8:00–8:15 AM Eastern

Reading instruction begins immediately after the Homeroom transition.
